DeadBrand is a European trademark intelligence platform. We monitor the EUIPO and WIPO registers daily and surface trademarks whose protection has lapsed, expired, or been formally removed — alongside structured intelligence on each record.
We read the same official sources that IP professionals consult — EUIPO eSearch Plus, WIPO Global Brand Database, national IPO feeds — and we read them continuously. For each record we publish, our system computes a transparent multi-dimensional score covering:
Length, pronounceability, memorability across major European languages
Across .com, .eu, and 12 national TLDs, checked daily
Commercial breadth, sector overlap, class tier assessment
Procedural history, status code, date of removal, original applicant
The result is a searchable, filterable view of trademarks no longer in force, with the legal status code, the original applicant, the date of removal, and the underlying register record clearly displayed for every entry.
DeadBrand is built on a principle of strict scope honesty. We say this here because the trademark space is full of products that overpromise.
We are not a law firm. Nothing on this platform constitutes legal advice. Re-filing a trademark requires the assessment of a qualified trademark attorney in the relevant jurisdiction.
We are not a marketplace. We do not facilitate the transfer, sale, or registration of any trademark. We provide intelligence; the legal action sits with you and your counsel.
We are not affiliated with EUIPO, WIPO, or any national IP office. We use publicly available register data under the terms each office publishes.
A "removed" or "expired" record is not automatically free to re-register. Prior owners may retain unregistered rights, third parties may hold pending claims, and revocation grounds vary. Every record on DeadBrand carries the exact register status precisely so this distinction stays visible.
This is what trademark intelligence should look like: complete data, transparent scoring, and clear limits on what the data alone can decide.
Searching abandoned trademark records manually takes hours per query and produces incomplete results — register UIs were built for case lookup, not for discovery. DeadBrand exists to compress that research time from hours to minutes for the people who do this professionally: trademark attorneys, brand strategists, IP boutique researchers, and founders working with their counsel on naming.
We do one thing — surface lapsed trademark intelligence — and we try to do it without drama.
European, independent, self-funded. Our infrastructure runs in EU data centers. Our system is built and operated by a small technical team committed to honest data and disciplined scope.
